Aurora Protocol

Broadcast short intent tokens on two physical channels at once: inaudible ultrasonic tones (~18.5–20.5 kHz) and synchronized screen flashes. Receivers fuse whichever channel they can perceive — so a deaf user reads the light, a blind user hears the tone, and both can survive a noisy room, a pocket, or a language barrier.

Frame ≈ 1.1 s · repeats every ~1.6 s

Tip: hold the speaker toward the receiver's mic within ~3 m. Screen flashes carry across a clear line of sight up to ~10 m in dim light. Both channels use the same clock, so a receiver sees them agree.

Why this modality

Existing beacons pick one channel and hope for the best. Aurora runs two orthogonal channels in lock-step: whichever one gets through wins, and when both get through, confidence goes up instead of colliding. That makes it useful for disaster relief (SOS through smoke, across languages), accessibility (deaf + blind users share the same protocol), silent coordination in crowds, and pairing two strangers' phones with no network, no app store, and no shared language — just the physics already in every modern device.
